About OtterSpace Wildlife incMy profit, Wildlife sanctuary, providing permanent homes for impaired and imprinted non-releasable Wildlife. Our Wildlife comes from law-enforcement confiscations, facility closures, surrenders, and rescues. We are the lead of misfit toys for Wildlife.
What differentiates you from the competition? We are like no other wildlife facility or zoo. We take in the unwanted, infirm, and handicapped animals that have nowhere else to go. For many of these animals, we are their last hope.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Fund raising for facility support and getting corporate sponsorship

What is the core mission of your organization? Providing lifelong care for wildlife that has nowhere to go.

How do you measure impact and success in your programs? The impact on children and families visiting is huge

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? Meeting our obligations. Awareness of the needs of our guests. Trying to provide the most comfortable stress free environment for them

How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters? When they see our growth over the years and see their funding supports what we do not board members.

What trends are influencing the nonprofit world today? Many people see the larger nonprofits and salaries and a percentage of donated funds not going to the purpose of the nonprofit and they become jaded about giving.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? One of many is, we have a fox that was confiscated by FWC from someone that had it illegally and was dropped off at a rehab facility in central Fl. This female fox was taken from the only safety she knew, by a catch pole around the neck, dropped pff at a facility and placed in a cage with strange people. She was terrified and stressed and attacked the lady running it two times. The rehabber tried to find several places to take her but because she was vicious nobody would accept her. We got the call and were told we were her last hope that she was facing euthanasia. She was brought to us and within six weeks our head zookeeper was carrying her around like a child. She is now one of our ambassador animals because she is so wonderful. Her name is Swiper.

What keeps you motivated in this work? Cases just like Swiper. We get them often
