From Your Father Inc.
What is the core mission of your organization? Our mission is to surround children and their mothers with the resources, community, God’s love and support they need to thrive.
How do you measure impact and success in your programs? We measure impact by both numbers and relationships. We track how many families receive support, participate in classes, and stay engaged in our programs. We also look at long-term outcomes like increased stability, continued participation, and families who return not just for resources but for community.
What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? One of our biggest challenges is converting strong community support into consistent monetary funding. We receive many generous in-kind donations, which help us meet immediate needs, but financial support is essential for expanding our capacity, supporting our team, and working toward long-term goals like opening our first house for families.
How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters? We build long-term relationships by keeping supporters close to the impact of their giving. We share stories, provide updates, invite donors to events and volunteer opportunities, and communicate regularly so they can see how their support is changing lives. Our goal is for every supporter to feel like they are truly part of the community making the work possible.
What trends are influencing the nonprofit world today? The nonprofit sector is being shaped by several trends, including the growth of digital giving, increased interest in monthly recurring donations, and a stronger demand for transparency and measurable impact. Donors increasingly want to feel connected to the mission and see the real outcomes of their support.
Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? One story that captures our mission in action is Learica’s. She first connected with us by receiving a resource box during a difficult season. Over time she began attending programs and eventually started volunteering, even helping pack the same boxes that once supported her family. Although she found a job, she was still struggling to move forward financially. Through connections in our community, she recently interviewed with Uprise for their dental assistant training program. She is still in the process, but she is now pursuing a career path that could allow her to earn more than she ever has before. What started with a simple box has grown into community, opportunity, and a new sense of possibility.
What keeps you motivated in this work? My faith in God keeps me motivated. I believe this work is part of the calling He placed on my life, and trusting Him gives me the strength to keep going even in challenging seasons.
