About DOCKERY CHRISTIAN ACADEMYDCA is a Category IV Private School under the guidelines of the Tennessee Department of Education founded and headed by Reverend Rueben Y. Dockery, M.Ed., Ph.D. DCA operates under the auspices of a private Christian school with a special focus on male students in Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee. DCA offers a choice for students who are faltering academically but want an opportunity to achieve educational excellence. We aim to expand the educational choices within the Davidson County School District, offering struggling students in grades seven through twelve the opportunity to successfully reach state, national and international academic standards through a faith-based and rigorous curriculum.
What differentiates you from the competition? While there are existing private schools in the target area, none of them have the social or academic approach to serving the specialized population of students in Nashville, Tennessee thus, DCA has a unique advantage over its competition.
What are your top selling services or products that your company offers? Our educational services model fills a long standing gap in academic services for students and parents.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?Too many students face academic and life barriers unrelated to their ability or potential. Without intervention, those gaps widen. This initiative exists to interrupt that trajectory.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Because D.C.A. is opening its doors for the first time in 2026, building a base of 13k - 40k contributors for financial support is both crucial and challenging.

How is technology changing the classroom experience? Technology enables us to have a hybrid model for teaching and instruction (Part online and Part in person learning).

What challenges are educators currently facing post-pandemic? Perhaps the most significant challenge for educators is reaching students socially in order to effectively teach them across the curriculum.

How do you support student engagement and well-being? Our approach to teaching relies on direct parent engagement and partnership in the learning process.

What role does equity play in your educational approach? At D.C.A. we hold the belief that every creation of God has infinite value, according everyone we engage is respected.

How are you preparing students for a rapidly changing world? All of our students are being trained to master both entrepreneurial and academic career paths after leaving DOCKERY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY.

Can you share an initiative that has made a real impact? Reverend, Dr., Rueben Dockery has been lecturing on pro-social instructions for male youth for years. He began his work with a public lecture in the historic Chapel of Fisk University in 2006. As a primary teaching tool for student alignment to the school culture and discipline in general for developing “Noblemen”, “Scholars” and “Industrialist”, his process involves behavioral modification and character development, that will be taught from his “Framework for Fatherly Instructions: Understanding the Male Growth Process Workbook”.

What’s your vision for the future of education? At Dockery Christian Academy, we envision the development of a pro-social model for innovative education of students with traditional urban American challenges to learning.
