DOCKERY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
How is technology changing the classroom experience? Technology enables us to have a hybrid model for teaching and instruction (Part online and Part in person learning).
What challenges are educators currently facing post-pandemic? Perhaps the most significant challenge for educators is reaching students socially in order to effectively teach them across the curriculum.
How do you support student engagement and well-being? Our approach to teaching relies on direct parent engagement and partnership in the learning process.
What role does equity play in your educational approach? At D.C.A. we hold the belief that every creation of God has infinite value, according everyone we engage is respected.
How are you preparing students for a rapidly changing world? All of our students are being trained to master both entrepreneurial and academic career paths after leaving DOCKERY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY.
Can you share an initiative that has made a real impact? Reverend, Dr., Rueben Dockery has been lecturing on pro-social instructions for male youth for years. He began his work with a public lecture in the historic Chapel of Fisk University in 2006. As a primary teaching tool for student alignment to the school culture and discipline in general for developing “Noblemen”, “Scholars” and “Industrialist”, his process involves behavioral modification and character development, that will be taught from his “Framework for Fatherly Instructions: Understanding the Male Growth Process Workbook”.
What’s your vision for the future of education? At Dockery Christian Academy, we envision the development of a pro-social model for innovative education of students with traditional urban American challenges to learning.
