Camping Sticks Inc.
How is your ministry engaging with the community today? We equip leaders to go to state fairs, and community events with our hiking sticks. They share the gospel and give away the sticks. We encourage five day clubs outside the four walls of the church. We have a strategic partnership with Trail Life USA to help them rescue America’s boys.
What role does technology play in spreading your message? We have a podcast that correlates with each of books. We also have an active YouTube channel filled with original songs, videos and diy’s for parents and leaders. We send out a weekly newsletter with a 50% open rate.
How do you support spiritual growth among your members? Our prayer team actively prays for our ministry and members. We have a word of the week in our newsletter that points members to Christ. All our resources have devotions meant to support the spiritual growth of families and children.
What challenges are ministries facing in the modern world? Because we are primarily a kids ministry we see the following issues occurring in kids ministries:
Family participation and engagement, – kids show up irregularly and families are under engaged
Volunteer retention – scarcity of trained adults limit ministry effectiveness
Cultural distractions – technology can trap children in unhealthy cycles that keep them distracted
Depth of spiritual formation – Children may know bible stories but lack personal discipleship
How do you balance tradition with innovation in worship? Our newest original songs for kids have clear gospel centric messages with fun engaging beats and rhythms. Our newest songs will be released on Spotify this year.
What initiatives are you leading to serve vulnerable populations? We’ve just engaged with a missionary group from the Philippines. We are sending two hundred and thirty of our books and resources to them for use in their VBS programming. We are excited to engage with them and hear how God will move in the hearts of children and families.
We also see that our strategic ministry partnership with Trail Life USA is helping us reach boys who may not normally enter the doors of a church.
How can younger generations be more involved in ministry? Let’s get kids participating in skits, worship, and arts-our resources encourage this. Also, encourage the older children to help led the younger children during small group times. This could like being the one to read the story or lead the devotional. Our resources are set up to encourage this as well.
